At Huffman & Huffman, the most heartbreaking cases we handle are those involving the loss of life. These tragedies are often completely preventable, making them even more devastating. The impact on families who lose a loved one is profound, and it’s the driving force behind our firm’s commitment to advocating for safer driving within our community. While no amount of compensation can ever bring back those who are lost, our mission at Huffman & Huffman is to seek justice through wrongful death claims and to provide families with the support and resources they need to move forward.

Conner was a star athlete with a bright future ahead of him, taken far too soon while still in high school due to the reckless and destructive actions of an unlicensed driver. When Conner’s mother, Tammy, turned to our firm after this unimaginable loss, she discovered that Virginia’s outdated laws limited the actions that could be taken against the responsible party. Through our work together, we not only secured compensation for the tragic loss of her son but also helped Tammy gain a platform to make a difference. Her grief transformed into a powerful mission to protect others from experiencing the same heartache, leading to the successful passing of two bills aimed at improving road safety for students and increasing parental involvement in their driver's education.

In honor of Conner’s memory, Tammy founded The Gweedo Memorial Foundation, dedicated to educating teen drivers and their parents on the dangers of destructive driving decisions. Additionally, Tammy founded and launched a website for teens, https://lnkd.in/ePzRpQzu. The website allows teens to report anything, including unsafe driving, without fear of retaliation. We are deeply honored to have stood by Tammy’s side every step of the way, fighting for justice, and providing support as she builds a legacy that will undoubtedly save lives.

Tammy, your strength and courage inspire us all. Your dedication to carrying Conner’s legacy forward through The Gweedo Memorial Foundation is nothing short of heroic.
